Jake Beales I’m a junior at Encinal High School and I take a lot of pride in being one of the program directors for 96.1 KJTZ. I co-host and produce a show with Big Sy in the Morning every Tuesday from 8 AM-9 AM called the Turbulent Hour, where we try to play the best that underground and old school rap has to offer. I also co-host a show with Nick and Seamus (of Nutty News and Ground Control infamy) every Wednesday from 8 AM-9 AM called Dead Air, where we play a hodge podge of rock music, ranging from hardcore punk to dad balladry, and aimlessly rant about the weirdest news stories from the week. Aside from radio/broadcast, my true passion is music. Raised on the Ramones and the Clash, I can’t remember a time where I didn’t aspire to be a rockstar, touring the world and performing for adoring fans. The goal is to write and produce some records before I graduate. If this whole music thing doesn’t turn out, I’m planning to pursue a job in radio, TV, and/or film after getting a degree revolving around those fields.

Nick Lindell-Wright I'm a junior here at Encinal and one of three program directors at the the radio station, helping other students with any problems they face in their radio endeavors. I host two shows called Ground Control with my boy Seamus McGuiness, and also Dead Air, a show hosted alongside Jake Beales and Seamus McGuiness. Both shows focus on great music, including genres of rock, alternative rock, and punk. We are always discussing interesting and sometimes controversial topics on each of the shows. I  love being able to express myself on the radio, whether that is through sharing music or my ideas. As for my future, I want to pursue a career in broadcasting, whether that means in film/TV or in radio, so this class is one of the best educational opportunities I can pursue.

Sylas What’s happening, people who are reading this, I'm Big Sy in the Morning. I'm currently 16 years of age and a junior at Encinal high school. I've been apart of this radio station since the beginning way before the studio's were built and the walls were up. This experience has been amazing to me, being apart of a radio station has always been one of my biggest dreams and this class gives me the rare opportunity to live it. Music is one of my greatest passions along with writing and traveling around the world with my mama. I went to eight countries before I started high school and I wish to continue that tradition and eventually pass it on to my future kids. I have many goals in life, I wish to have more than one career paths, music and production are the paths I would like to take first but I am also greatly interested in special effects productions and making things with my hands. I hope this bio gave you a little insight into my life and the things I like to do thanks for taking your time to read it.
